Refreshing Basil Lemonade

Ingredients
  • 1¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 8 cups filtered water, divided
  • 1½ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 small bunch basil, leaves separated
  • 4 cups ice
  • 1 lemon, cut into 4 slices, then each slice cut in half crosswise

Instructions
  1. Place the sugar and 2 cups of the water in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. Heat the water, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Transfer the sugar water to a 2-quart pitcher along with the remaining 6 cups of water, lemon juice, and basil leaves.
  4. Stir well to combine, then place the pitcher in the refrigerator for 1 hour to allow the basil to marinate in the lemonade.
  5. When ready to serve, place ½ cup of ice in 8 glasses and pour in the lemonade.

  • 4 cups cold milk
  • 10 red-striped mint candies, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
  • ½ cup chocolate syrup
  • 4 cups ice cubes
  • 4 fresh mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions
  1. Place all of the ingredients, except for the mint sprigs and ice, in a blender and puree until smooth.
  2. Evenly divide the ice cubes among 4 large glasses, pour the mint mocha over the ice.

Ingredients
  • 8 cups filtered water
  • 2 (1-inch) cinnamon sticks
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 large or family sized black tea bags
  • ¾ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 orange, sliced into 6 slices (optional)
  • Cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)
  • Ice for serving

Instructions
  1. Place the water, cinnamon sticks, and sugar in a large saucepan and place over high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes to allow the cinnamon sticks to release their flavor.
  2. Remove the water from heat, add the tea bags, cover, and allow to steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and discard.
  3. Pour the tea mixture into a 2-quart pitcher and stir in the orange and lemon juice.
  4. Chill the tea in the refrigerator until cold, about 2 hours.

  2. Add the guava, ginger ale, and agave syrup, stir.
